Employee handling microalloyed fine grain steel with crane hook at Waelzholz production for high strength and good formability
Micro-alloyed steel

Micro-alloyed fine-grain steels: alloyed with niobium, titanium or vanadium

Tensile strength in demand

Micro-alloyed fine-grain steels are low carbon steels. By adding niobium, titanium or vanadium in small amounts, we significantly increase tensile strength in comparison to soft DC-grade steels but still manage to maintain good formability. The low carbon content (< 0.1 percent) ensures that the material can be easily welded.

Micro-alloyed fine-grain steel

During the transmission of torque in automatic gearboxes, the steel strip used must be high-strength and extremely flat. With our micro-alloyed, fine-grained steels, we can achieve strengths of more than 1,000 MPa with excellent flatness.
